Your Mercury

Two things matter. The sign Mercury sits in describes how you think. The house it sits in describes the part of life where you do most of that thinking.

Somebody with Mercury in the money house thinks about money constantly, whether or not there is anything to decide. That is a style, not a virtue.

Fast is not clear

There are roughly four ways people decide, and everybody leans on one of them.

STYLEWORKS UNTIL
Decide by movingThe decision needed information you skipped.
Decide by reading everythingThe window closes while you are still reading.
Decide by talking it throughYou end up with the most confident person’s opinion.
Decide by waitingWaiting becomes the decision, without you choosing it.

All four work. All four have a failure mode, and it is always the same trait pushed too far.

When it gets noisy

While Mercury is active in your chart you can get sharper, or you can get stuck second-guessing and misreading people. Both of those feel like thinking hard.

The tell is repetition. If you have reconsidered the same choice four times and learned nothing new on any pass, that is noise, not analysis.

Keep a decision record

Before you decide, write down four things. What you know. What you are assuming. What would change your mind. When you will look at it again.

It takes two minutes and it is the single most useful habit in this whole guide. Without it, you will rewrite the story afterwards to match the outcome, and so will everyone else.

Write it down before you know how it ends. Memory is not a reliable witness about money.
